Nokia Lumia 625

We’ve been at it again, customising our 4.7″ Nokia Lumia 625 start screens to fight boredom, this time with film in mind! There’s nothing like putting on a film to kick boredom out of your quiet evening or long-haul flight…

Our start screen reminds us to keep up with the latest films, news and TV shows, (and looks super cool at the same time). This joined with our favourite movie app selection means we’re never without the information we need!

IMDb

IMDb

Internet Movie Database (IMDb) is the one stop shop for everything you need to know about films and TV shows. With the world’s largest collection of film, TV and celebrity information, you won’t get stuck trying to remember which actor did the voice-over for Simba in The Lion King (there were two).

Netflix

Netflix

Through the Windows Phone Netflix app you can watch all of your favourite movies and TV shows on your Nokia Lumia 625. This app is an absolute must for anybody serious about film but also really useful when you’re on holiday!

Flixter

Flixster

This mighty app gives an abundance of critic reviews so you don’t have to gamble when watching titles you’re not familiar with. You can also view thousands of trailers and see what’s coming up at the box office when you’ve pinned it to your start screen.

Movie Junkie

Movie Junkie

With information, movies, TV shows, reviews and news all taken care of, maybe you’d like to try your hand on Movie Junkie? It’s a game where you have to guess a film title by revealing squares over its cover. The less squares removed the more points you get for a correct guess. It’s a bit of fun that will test knowledge!

MyTileMaker

 MyTileMaker

To create our start screen we used MyTileMaker. Download, install and open the app, scroll to images and select the segmented image with the icon at the bottom. You can then pick a photo to convert into different layouts of tiles, perfect for giving your start screen some character.

So what kind of film apps do you use on your Lumia? Let us know in the comments section or reach out on Twitter.
