Unrivalled imaging experiences are at the heart of the Nokia Lumia 1020, so what better way of showing off your stunning pictures than with the updated PhotoBeamer app?

The latest version of PhotoBeamer, which was demonstrated at the launch of the Lumia 1020 in New York, now lets you show images from your Nokia smartphone on any browser in full HD resolution.

“When you’re beaming with your friends, you want to remember every detail of your precious moments. PhotoBeamer HD will make your memories more vivid” says David Fredh, PhotoBeamer’s lead product manager.

Adding photo quality to speed

David says his team were focused on speed and simplicity for the first release of PhotoBeamer. They listened to feedback from some users who wanted to see their photos beamed in HD.

The simplicity is still there but professionals and photography enthusiasts will certainly notice how much better they look.

The new app will also be able to automatically detect the best resolution to display the images on the receiving screen to guarantee you pictures look their best.

If it’s a full HD resolution screen, then PhotoBeamer will display the images at full HD; if not, it will run at the maximum quality that the screen allows.

It’s fitting that PhotoBeamer HD was launched in conjunction with the Lumia 1020, a revolutionary smartphone that, for the first time, combines a 41-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS).

As well capturing images in more detail and greater sharpness than ever before, you’ll now be able to take your friends closer to the details using PhotoBeamer.

It’s not just with the Lumia 1020, you’ll really see the difference with Nokia’s other PureView smartphones too, such as the Lumia 920 and Lumia 925.

David says, ‘The quality is so great, it’s like you’ve copied the original file to your computer and launched it.’

Beaming with pride

Since it was launched in November 2012, PhotoBeamer has become one of the most highly rated apps in the Windows Phone Store globally.

Part of PhotoBeamer’s genius is that it’s so simple to use, and the user experience is so fast and fluid.  A quick scan of user comments – ‘this is absolutely incredible’ – shows you just how much people are enjoying the app.

Here’s how you use it. Launch the app on your Lumia, then on any browser, whether it’s a desktop computer, laptop, tablet or Smart TV, scan the unique QR code on the PhotoBeamer website and watch as the pictures you flick through on your Lumia seamlessly appear on the bigger screen.

PhotoBeamer HD is available now for all Nokia Lumia smartphones running Windows Phone 8
