Asha App spotlight: THE Football App

If you love football, then the cunningly titled THE Football App is a must-have for your Nokia Asha 501. With fixtures and live scores from games and leagues around the world, it can satisfy your hunger for footballing knowledge whoever you support.

The app itself offers a staggering array of information and stats, and it’s both easy to use and quick to respond. The main page of the app is split into two sections: Live today and Global news, and underneath that there’s a Favourite option allowing you to set your favourite leagues for a faster access to the competition specific contents.

Live today lets you see live scores from around the world, and you can also restrict the scores to your favourite leagues only.

Global news does exactly what it says on the tin, providing football news and features from countries around the world. This comes in particularly handy for entertainment, with thousands of articles on offer, and the layout of the app – with a single column of text – makes them particularly easy to read.

Tap on Favourites to browse through different leagues around the world, and add your favourite leagues and cups to the homepage.

Once added to Favourites, simply tap which league you’re interested in and you’ll get details for Schedules, Tables, Teams and Statistics. You can also follow the games minute per minute, with live commentaries!

Picking teams lets you see squad details, including all the players and Scorers, while Statistics offers information including Scorers, Assists, Yellow and Red cards.

There’s also a Browse leagues option, letting you check out what’s happening around the world without having to add any particular option to your Favourites.

If you’re a football fan, THE Football App really is a great solution. It’s easier than looking up individual teams or scores, and you’ll always be up to date with the action.
