Explore and share your Lumia 1020 and 1520 photos, with Sozoom

With their mighty cameras, photos taken with the Nokia Lumia 1020 and Nokia Lumia 1520 can be zoomed right into, picking up intricate detail.

Taking full advantage of this potential is Sozoom, an exclusive new Windows Phone app that allows you to tell – and discover – interesting stories by highlighting features within an image and sharing them with your social networks.

It works by creating little pop-ups of zoomed-in areas of a photo.

Let’s say you’ve taken a photo of a city landscape from up high. As you can imagine, the image will be very busy; lots of buildings, cars navigating the roads and birds flying across the horizon. Tapping anywhere on the screen will generate a ‘balloon’ containing a close-up of the area you want to highlight.

A variety of different-coloured balloons can used, which is useful considering the variation on background hues you get in a large photo.

So now you can read that tiny street sign, watch that human ant walking their dog, and spy on that person talking on their mobile phone, all within the one photo. Joking aside, the possibilities for creativity are endless and we can foresee a glut of seemingly dull shots taken with the intent of pulling out interesting stories. It’s all in the detail!

In the trial version, you’ve got one balloon to position into any high-res photo. However, the full version (costing £0.79 / $0.99) permits you to embed numerous balloons. We tried ten and it still allowed for more.

Download Sozoom today and start sharing your creations.
