Get creative with Nokia Lumia 2520 photography

Equipped with a 6.7-megapixel camera with ZEISS optics, the Nokia Lumia 2520 takes a great photo. Add a 10.1-inch screen into the mix and you’ve got the perfect excuse to get creative with all of your shots.

In terms of taking actual photos, there are plenty of ways you can do that.

Microsoft’s camera app lets you can take standard photos, 360º panoramas, as well as recording video.

There’s also the option to use the Nokia Camera app that gives you much more control over features, such as manual focus, shutter speed and ISO settings.

If you’re the proud owner of a Nokia Lumia smartphone, such as the Nokia Lumia 1020 or Lumia 925, any photo you take on your smartphone can be shared to your Nokia Lumia 2520 with a simple tap of the two devices by using NFC or via the cloud using SkyDrive.

Once the photos are on your Nokia Lumia 2520, the fun really starts. Not only can you edit using Nokia’s built-in imaging tools, there are plenty of apps to experiment with.

Meme-Generator

Sad-Trooper-Jeremy

One way to turn a funny photo into a meme is by using this app.

It takes a creative mind to see a photo of one thing and turn its meaning of it into something else, purely by the power of a few words. However, get it right and the results could go viral.

Meme-Generator helps by offering a library of meme templates for you to work from.

And it’s pretty straightforward – just upload one of your own images and add some text to make your meme.

Saving and sharing will (hopefully) be followed by plenty of laughs.

Fotor

Sometimes, a collection of photos – from a wedding, party, or holiday – look better if they’re a part of a group, or a collage. Fotor makes it easy to create one.

Simply tap on the photos you want to add to your collage, hit next and Fotor arranges them nicely for you.

If you don’t like the automated layout, you’re free to move them around within the template, plump for a freestyle option, or use the photo-stitching feature.

What’s also nice about creating a collage with Fotor is the ability to share your creations online. You can save in a quality high enough to print clearly, too.

Photo Editor

As far as photo editors go, this covers the basics like cropping, red-eye reduction, and a change of orientation. Delve deeper and you’ll find a number of fun features.

If you’ve taken a photo of a friend, or are into selfies, play around with the ‘stickers’ feature to add novelty items to the shot.

I’ve always wanted to know what I’d look like if I wore an eyepatch and a fez. Now I know…

..not to invest in a fez and an eyepatch.

With a number of special effects available, you can simply change the look and mood of any photo. “Avenue” is my current favourite.

Once you’re happy with your creation, you can share it with the world via the usual social networks, or email.

Adobe Photoshop Express

There will be occasions when all you’ll require is to crop a photo, or adjust the contrast or vibrance. Other times you’ll want to add a cool, or warm, filter to your image. Thankfully, Adobe Photoshop Express has these features.

While there are plenty of free functions available, some of the added extras do come at a cost.

Also, if you have an Adobe Revel account, you can access all of your shared photos through Adobe Photoshop Express.

Here are just some ways to get creative with the photos on Nokia Lumia 2520. Do you have any app or feature tips for us? Let us know, below.
