MOLOME: funny, yet meaningful photos

Like taking photos? Love making them look amusing? MOLOME is here to lend a helping hand.

MOLOME isn’t just your regular photo-editing app, its main purpose is a little more lighthearted, explains MOLOME founder Sittiphol Phanvilai:

“MOLOME is a photo decoration tool aimed to make your photo funnier. With MOLOME, you can use thousands of stickers and hundreds of frames to turn an ordinary photo into something meaningful that’s also funny.”

The experience is very similar to other photo-editing/sharing apps. You take a photo, add a filter and/or a frame and maybe throw in a little tilt shift for fun.

Usually, that’s where most photography apps stop. However, with MOLOME you’ve got the extra icon at the bottom of the screen that resembles a rubber stamp. Once tapped, this is where you begin to add the ‘funny’.

The stamp icon is home to funny faces, moustaches, glasses, globules of snot and the like. There’s the option to download many, many more just by hitting the plus (+) icon in that row.

Some downloads are free, some will cost, but they’re all clearly marked as to which is which.

As you’d expect from a photo-editing app you have the option to share with the rest of MOLOME community – one that’s already large in size and also very active. Once you share a photo, you’ll likely receive a ‘love’ or two (hopefully more), as well as a comment from another like-minded MOLOME member.

Sharing can also be done via all the usual social networks, and MOLOME shares to 12 of them. Sittiphol gives us the heads-up that Instagram sharing will soon be supported, too.

By tapping into many different networks MOLOME’s aim is to help people enjoy each platform more and to simply inject some fun into people’s lives.

“We are not trying to compete with any one photo sharing application. We want to give people a unique alternative to decorating their photos and to help them publish their work to people all around the world on every single platform.” tells Sittiphol.

MOLOME runs on Windows Phone 7 and Windows Phone 8 and is free to download from Windows Phone store.
