Your Wish Is My App – season 2: take part
If you’ve got a great concept for a smartphone app, your idea could end up winning big and become a real app on the WP Store.
After a successful first season in 2013, the India-based Nokia Your Wish Is My App – Season 2 is asking people to submit their app proposals. The best 30 ideas will be entered into a shortlist, where ten will emerge as winners.
Ideas will be judged on the basis of relevance, originality, revenue model and practicality by a voting panel comprising Indian tech guru and NDTV Managing Editor Rajiv Makhni, tech entrepreneurs Vishal Gondal and Sanjeev Bikhchandani, celebrity chef Vikas Khanna and Bollywood actor Kalki Koechlin.
Prizes vary from 1million INR for the winning entry to Nokia Lumia 1520 for other lucky successors. Further details can be found at the Nokia and Nokia India Facebook page.
The best 30 participants also get to star on a 9-episode reality show on NDTV – India’s leading broadcast house, hosted by Rajiv Makhni himself!
What’s more? 5000 top ideas will also be shared with developers through DVLUP for conversion into apps for WP Store.
Nokia YWIMA was born as an idea to crowdsource suggestions from people on the kind of apps they would like to have on their smart phones. It also provides a platform for greater innovation. The first season garnered 38000 ideas, of which 1400 are currently live apps on the WP Store.

That Nokia YWIMA has kindled the imagination of smartphone users is evident in the fact that we have received over 36000 ideas in less than a month already! This season we took YWIMA to the youth in their home grounds – colleges.
YWIMA became truly global this year with the Social Media Week inviting ideas from people in Bangalore, Milan, New York & Lagos.
We also pulled at everyone’s heartstrings on Valentine’s Day as judges Rajiv Makhni (@rajivmakhni) and Vikas Khanna (@thevikaskhanna) and their fans faced off on Twitter over ideas around romance and love.
