Nokia X: An introduction to the Nokia Store

The Nokia X, Nokia X+ and Nokia XL are all plugged – digitally speaking – right into the Nokia Store. If you want to download a game or an app, this should be your first port of call.

With a heavy emphasis on app quality, the Nokia Store is, and has been since its inception, a trusted resource for millions of Nokia owners.

Each and every app submitted to the Nokia Store is vetted and quality-tested to make sure it delivers on promise and without repercussion.

The same can also be said of the myriad Android apps being published into the store, which isn’t just providing developers with increased revenue, thanks to the extensive carrier-billing that Nokia Store provides, but is allowing new waves of customers to experience fresh, new apps.

Don’t see the app you want immediately? Simply search for it in the Nokia Store. If you don’t see it there, you’ll be presented with a list of third party stores, such as Yandex Store, Aptoide, 1Mobile Market, Mobango and SlideME Market. Select one, download the full (store) client and register, or sign in. The overall experience is quite simple.

Bear in mind that, while these third-party stores are completely open for use, their content is not managed by Nokia.

From these stores, you really do have access to a world of Android apps, on top of the great pre-loaded apps that come with each member of the X family, like Nokia MixRadio, HERE Maps and Skype.

Home to the store

When using a Nokia X smartphone, the Nokia Store can be found on the homescreen – look for the shopping bag icon. Once loaded, you’re presented with a glossy carousel of five apps or games, while the rest of the screen cascades down into featured, applications, games, collections and a ‘for starters’ section. Browsing these sections is a great way to discover new apps, as is using the search bar – just tap and type.

The main Nokia Store screen will show you all the content that’s available to download, while a second section displays your download history.

It’s all straightforward to use and full of choice. Enjoy!
