#LumiaInLapland: capturing the unthinkable

Wilderness, captivating scenery, snow (lots of it), fun winter activities and the magical aurora borealis were on top of our wish list when we embarked on what turned out to be the adventure of a lifetime in the Finnish Lapland last month.

Geared up with warm winter clothes, the Lumia 1020 and Lumia 1520 smartphones and photography tips from our imaging experts, we invited a select group of lifestyle media from across the globe to experience and capture the unique light, nature, winter, coldness and the way of living above the Arctic Circle.

Snowmobile safari, arctic sunset, reindeers, wolves, husky ride, sauna and ice swimming – definitely ice swimming – were on the cards. And the Northern Lights too, but they were spotted by only a fortunate few…
