Tightly woven into it are some powerful Microsoft services, including OneDrive, in-browser Skype messaging and calls, and Office Web apps, such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote.

Import your emails from Gmail to Outlook.com

  1. To start with, you’ll need an Outlook.com account. Either login with your existing credentials, or create a new one.
  2. Once you’ve logged in, run the import wizard. Alternatively, head to your account settings (top right) and find the Aliases section on the left.
  3. Add an account alias entering the Gmail account you wish to migrate to Outlook.com.
  4. Back at the main screen, you’ll be greeted with an ‘import from YourEmail@Address screen’ with some permissions you should accept.
  5. Outlook.com will start to import all of your emails.

You can now send and receive emails from your Gmail account (and any other aliases you may have set up) from Outlook.com.

At this point your emails will still be delivered to both your Gmail and Outlook.com accounts.

However, you can configure your Gmail account to forward any emails to your new one. In fact, Outlook.com will have sent you an email detailing how to do that. Follow those steps.

With a shiny new email client packed with features, you’re ready to connect your phones to it.

Setting up couldn’t be simpler. Head to Accounts and tap the plus (+) icon, followed by Outlook. Once you’ve entered your email address and password, you’re set up.

Outlook on Nokia X

On the Nokia X family, Outlook.com is already installed right out of the box, but can also be found on the Nokia Store.

As with any email client, just enter your username and password and in no time your inbox will fill up.

When it comes to writing emails on your Nokia X, you can select which email account you wish to email from and attach files locally stored on your phone, or directly from your OneDrive.

On a Lumia, connecting to your Outlook.com account is done through the system settings and email+accounts screen. Enter your credentials and you’re good to go.

If you’ve got more than one email account setup, you can link inboxes so that all your emails come into one place.

Files or photos from your OneDrive account can be attached, as well as media from your installed Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Switch to Outlook.com to benefit from a whole raft of features that you’ll be able to enjoy on your Nokia Asha, Nokia X or Lumia device.
