Productivity hacks: master your inbox in two hours

If email rules your working day, you’ve failed. It’s time to usurp the demon king of email and rule your inbox. Head over to your inbox now and start processing your emails.

Already an Inbox Zero master? Maybe you know someone that might need to use this tool…

Email has become a time thief in organisations. Many people feel like all they do is send and reply to emails at work. It can easily become a source of stress.

People’s inboxes fill up with emails that need to be processed, acted on, and deleted. A full inbox is a potential source of distraction. How many times have you been immersed in a piece of work, gone to your inbox to look for information, seen a new email, started to read it, and suddenly lost the whole morning?

Email is a vital communication tool, so the answer isn’t to ignore it. Instead we should aim to use it in a productive way so that it supports our work, rather than hindering it.

Not sure you dare mess with your email? Just try it for a week or two – there’s nothing here that can’t be undone and you might just like it. If you do give it a try, we’d love to hear how you get on.

Next week we’ll have our final tool in this series, which is all about writing better to-do lists.
