Instagram your macro pics to win a Lumia surprise pack

It’s the start of another month (doesn’t time just fly when you’re having photo fun!), which means the start of another Instagram competition.

Last month, we honored the intrepid aquatic explorer, Fabien Cousteau (grandson to the legendary Jacques-Yves Cousteau) and his team of aquanauts as they set off on an amazing underwater adventure. Powered by Lumia, this project called Mission 31 had them living and working underwater for 31 days at 20 meters below the ocean’s surface. You dived right into the #Lumiawater theme and we had thousands of splashtastic entries. Happily, the runners up and winners will be announced very soon.

In the meantime, you’re doubtless all eager to hear what we have in store for you this month. Well, to come up with our latest theme we decided to ask the people we care about most…yes, you, dear reader. And what did the majority of you ask for? The answer is the teeny tiny world of macro. Yep, we want you to zoom in on those little details, whether it be an ant’s eye view of the pavement, a super duper close up of a flower or the minutiae of your kitchen table. Post your macroscopic gems on Instagram with the hashtag #LumiaMacro and you could end up the winner of the Lumia surprise goodie bag.

If you’ve never done macro before, never fear. Our community of Lumia macro photography experts are quite literally here, with a bundle of top tips. And if you need some inspiration, feast your eyes on these macro masterpieces.

The competition runs from 1st July – 31st July. So remember to read the Terms and Conditions first and then get-a-shooting. You can use any device and enter as many times as you like. What’s more,  previously instagramed pics qualify too, as long as you tag them #LumiaMacro. We hope you have big fun photographing the little world.
