And what better way to fill it than with a few shiny and new apps? We’ve got 5 cool apps for you, both new and updates, to help beat those end-of-summer blues. Get your Lumias at the ready!

ProShot

What is it: a popular photo app that puts DLSR functions right at your fingertips

Why we love it: ProShot got a huge update not too long ago, and now it’s had yet another one that will make you love the app even more than you already do. The new version has tons of new tweaks and updates, such as more resolution options for a variety of Lumia models, finer control to contrast and saturation sliders, an increase in max zoom to 7X, and many more bug fixes and improvements to UI and UX. A fantastic app that’s now even more fantastic!

Who it’s perfect for: Anyone that loves taking professional-looking photos on their Lumia

OneStart

What is it: a Start Screen customization app

Why we love it: One of the many perks of owning a Lumia is the ability to customize to suit your needs. You can take that customization to the extreme with OneStart, which lets you turn your Start Screen into a work of art using the background and transparent tiles. No two Start Screens will ever be the same with OneStart!

Who it’s perfect for: Honestly? Everyone! Let your personality shine!

Plash

What is it: India’s first RSS search and news aggregation service

Why we love it: Plash curates headlines from all over India and the world, letting you choose what interests you most from more than 200 categories. You can also choose which language you get your news in, with English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and many more being supported. That’s not all, though—you can connect with your Facebook friends to see what they’re reading, follow trending topics, and even check out some of India’s top magazines. All for free!

Who it’s perfect for: Anyone that wants to stay up-to-date on Indian news

BBM

What is it: app that lets you connect with friends and share instant messages, pictures and more for free

Why we love it: The app that millions around the world love was recently made available for Beta testers on Windows Phone! BBM Beta lets you chat and share photos with your friends, no matter where they live or what type of smartphone they use. It’s fast, it’s secure, and it’s been one of the premier messaging apps for years now for good reason. Now, BBM for Windows Phone has been bumped to version 1.0.0.16 and, with bug fixes and performance improvements on board, is no longer in Beta. Hurrah!

Who it’s perfect for: anyone that wants to keep in contact with friends and acquaintances

What it is: a fun and addictive game

Why we love it: You can become the world’s best hacker in this new game that has you taking corporate contracts and stealing data (only fictional data, though!) all over a cool-looking futuristic city. Improve your hacking abilities by earning gear and cash to buy sweet items, and defeat a few drones along the way. The original soundtrack is definitely worth a listen, too!

Who it’s perfect for: anyone that’s ever daydreamed about being a stealthy hacker
