Getting started with Windows Phone 8.1

If you’re new to Windows Phone 8.1 and want to learn how to do something on your shiny new Lumia, what better way than to watch somebody else do it?

If you pop over to https://www.trylumiaphone.com/ you’ll notice there’s a hand holding a Lumia 930. But it’s not a photo, it’s a video that will come to life the moment you activate it.

To see it in action, simply browse through the options on the left of the page, and watch as the thumb navigates through the phone.

The first section you should probably check out is the “easy to switch” option. You’re shown how to transfer your content, contacts and calendar details over to your Lumia from an iPhone or Android device.

If you’d like to learn how to “personalize the home screen,” simply select that option. From there, you can find out how arrange the tiles, change the screen color, or even how to set a Start screen background.

Maybe playing games or listening to music is more your style. In that case, select the “play music & games” option to see how to discover new songs, create your own playlists, or get your game on.

There’s plenty to learn – perfect if you’re a Windows Phone 8.1 newcomer or just want to brush up on your knowledge.
