OneDrive upload limit increased to 10GB

From last week, you may have noticed an improvement to OneDrive, particularly if you tried uploading an excessively large file.

That’s because the OneDrive team has increased the upload file size limit by 400 per cent.

Before this top requested feature was implemented, the maximum file size that could be uploaded to OneDrive was 2 GB. The limit is now set to 10 GB.

While this may not be an essential for everyone, as photos or Word documents are always relatively small, this is great news for those with large files, such as videos.

The improvements take affect whether you upload your 10 GB files to OneDrive using the desktop app for Windows or Mac, the mobile app, or the OneDrive website.

Essentially what this means is that you can save more, do more, and access more from anywhere using your OneDrive on any of your devices.

You don’t need to do anything to take advantage of this OneDrive upgrade, as that’s all taken care of server side.

More details can be found over at the OneDrive blog.
