Making the Switch: iPhone to Lumia

We are thrilled to know that you have a stylish and a sparkling new Lumia. Welcome to the family!

Your Lumia smartphone running the latest Windows Phone 8.1 software is the perfect companion if you are just entering the world of smartphones. Now, moving your contacts, music and photos from an old iPhone to a new Lumia is as easy as one, two, three!

This video shows how you can seamlessly transfer content.

And here are the detailed steps:

Transfer my data

Your Lumia smartphone comes with a pre-installed Transfer My Data app, making it quick and easy to copy contacts from almost any phone to your new Lumia via Bluetooth.

Step 1: Transfer Contacts

  1. Enable Bluetooth on your old phone.
  2. On your new Lumia, launch the Transfer my Data app.
  3. Once you’re ready to start, hit continue.
  4. You’ll be asked to connect to your old phone. You’ll see a list of Bluetooth devices in your area, so select your phone, choose what you’d like to sync, hit “complete” and you’re done.

Voilà, all of your chosen contacts have been successfully synced to your new Lumia.

For the next step, you’ll need to download and install the Windows Phone app for PC or the Windows Phone app for Mac.

Step 2: Transfer Music, Photos and Video

Connect your Lumia to your Mac via a USB cable and open the Windows Phone app for Mac. The app will then load automatically.

Select what you’d like to transfer from your phone, such as music, videos or pictures. If you wish to add music, for example, click the plus symbol, choose “add music” and right-click the folder, artists or albums you want and click “add.”

Be sure to check out Nokia Photo Transfer for Mac too, which allows you to transfer not just your stunning photos in high-res, but also Cinemagraphs and images you’ve captured with smart sequence mode.

Smart-sequence

Now that you’ve transferred your content, here’s some more information about features on your new Lumia that will catch your eye instantly.
