Lumia Instagramer of the Month: Antonio Garcia
Two weeks ago we asked all of you to help us choose our very first Instagramer of the Month and boy did you deliver.
We had well over a thousand votes and after a hard fought contest the results are in! October’s winner is none other than Antonio Garcia, a talented 25-year-old from Valencia, Spain.
So, how did Antonio discover his love for photography? “I did an Audiovisual Communication degree because of my passion for TV production. During my degree, I discovered my other passion: photography. I have not stopped shooting since that moment. Now, I take pictures with my very first DSLR and my Lumia 1020,” he tells us. That’s what we like to hear. Read on to find out more about Antonio’s love of life, Lumia, and landscapes.
Which Lumia do you have and what do you like most about it?
I’ve a Lumia 1020. I’ve never been a phone photographer before, so the camera is what I love most about my 1020.
It’s awesome how it works. Things like long exposure, manual focus and the DNG files to edit in Camera RAW makes this mobile phone a huge, powerful tool for every photographer. It doesn’t matter if you are starting out or you have years of previous experience with other cameras. Whatever the case, it’s a really enjoyable experience.
Where do you shoot most of your photos and what sort of photos do you like to take best?
I shoot most of my pictures in Valencia, where I live, and the surrounding countryside.
I’ve always been a nature lover. Whenever I can, I leave the city and go looking for new places and forests I haven’t seen. That’s why most of my pics are landscapes, lakes or forests. I also love taking street photography shots, but only in cities where I don’t know anything about the place. I feel more inspired and ready to shoot in then.
What are your top tips for taking Instagram photos on your Lumia?
Truth is, my only real tip is to use Instagram for inspiration. I’m always trying to get some inspiration from other photographers around the internet and Instagram is great for that.
Which five Lumia instagramers do you recommend everyone to follow?
Stephen Alvarez – He’s a great inspiration to me. He’s takes photos for National Geographic… What else do you need to know?
Jonathan Gustafsson – I love his style and how he shows the places he visits.
Kenneth Nguyen – This doesn’t need explanation. His work is art.
Luke Wassell and Matt Glastonbury – I like how I can travel to other countryside places with their pictures.
