Available in the U.S. online at www.commerce.microsoft.com/gifting and in the Windows Phone store, the gift cards feature a variety of colorful themes and designs. Choose the card and design that best fits the person and occasion. Themes include: Christmas, Holiday (my favorite design is “Stay Cool Snowman”), Hanukkah, Birthday (e.g. “Birthday Gamer”), Anytime and Congratulations.

After typing in the gift-card amount, you have the option of writing a personal note and scheduling the delivery date of your choosing. You can pair a digital gift card with a new Microsoft Lumia smartphone, such as the Lumia 830 or Lumia 635, but the card itself is enough to say Happy Holidays!

Once your recipient “opens” your present, they can redeem the gift card to his or her Microsoft account and purchase great content from the Xbox and Windows stores for their Lumia or other Windows Phone, Xbox, tablet, or PC.
