Gestures Beta

Why we love it: Gestures Beta is a free app that lets you do some pretty cool things. For example, to answer a call, all you have to do is raise your phone to your ear. To mute your microphone, simply place your phone face-down on a flat surface. If you place it face-up, you’ll switch to speaker.

Candy Crush Saga
What is it: a match-three puzzle game
Why we love it: Candy Crush Saga probably doesn’t need an introduction because we all know and love this highly addictive game. Netflix (update)
What is it: a TV and movie subscription service
Why we love it: If you’ve got a Netflix account, you can get the most out of your subscription by getting the app, which lets you watch shows and films anyplace, anytime. A great app became even greater this week with a few important updates such as a new UI, higher video quality, the option to pin your favorite content to your start screen, and Cortana integration. Version 4.0 also includes the ability to select profiles and has post-play support.
Who it’s perfect for: TV and movie junkies
Flipboard (update)
What is it: a social news magazine
Why we love it: Flipboard lets you create your own “magazines” that can be about any subject available online, a handy tool for catching up on the latest news and reading online articles. The app had previously only been available for 1GB RAM devices, which left many Lumia lovers in the dark. Happily, now that version 2.5 is out, devices with 512MB can also start creating, flipping, and loving their own magazines. In addition to this big update, the overall experience is much smoother and improved.
