LINE app update for Windows Phone brings Timeline and Group Home features

The new upgrade to LINE, one of the world’s leading messaging apps for Windows Phone 8 and up, makes chatting and texting with your friends even more fun and easy.

The free LINE messenger app, which now has 560 million registered members worldwide, has added useful tools called Timeline and Group Home.

With Timeline, you and your friends can see a chronology of your latest adventures–captured via photos, text and stickers–and the ability to comment on them.

Group Home consists of two features, Album and Note, and is a more private way to communicate and share photos with distinct groups of friends and family.

For instance, you can create a group within the app just for your book club. In this closed circle, you can share suggestions on what novels or non-fiction books to read next, comment and vote on the leading contenders, and post funny or amusing stickers when words just won’t do.

Brown, a rather taciturn bear, and Cony, an excitable rabbit, are LINE’s two main characters, or emoji, and posting stickers of the LINE mascots are a fun way to chat with friends. Other characters include Serge, whose world is “full of burgers, rock n’ roll, snakes and heartbreak.” There’s even a sticker set with characters from the BBC show, “Dr. Who.”

The new update to LINE comes hot on the heels of an update last month that added free video-calling and Italian language support as well as deleted bugs and fixed performance issues.

Do you have LINE on your Lumia or other Windows Phone? Be sure to update the app on your smartphone to get the latest messaging experience!
