Microsoft wins at Mobile World Congress 2015

Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 640, Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and more walk away with awards.

Continuing a strong tradition of industry wins, our range of devices has shone again, winning ten awards at MWC 2015.

At the 20th Global Mobile Awards 2015, actor, comedian and all-round surrealist (you should have heard his warm up), John Cleese, led proceedings and handed out the award for Best Mobile Tablet to the irrepressible Surface Pro 3.

Dennis Meinhardt, director of program management for Microsoft Surface, said:

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be winning this award.

Surface Pro 3 is the world’s most productive tablet, and is a tablet that can replace your laptop. With Surface Pro 3 we have managed to marry the hardware and software to provide the power and performance of a full laptop without compromising the sleek design, lightness, and great battery life that we expect from a tablet.

“On behalf of the whole Surface team – thank you!”

Video Tuner and Lumia 530 were runners up in the Best Mobile Photo, Art, Video or TV App, and Best Low Cost Smartphone categories, respectively.

Elsewhere, the Lumia 640 XL picked up Top Pick of Mobile World Congress 2015 trophies from Expert Reviews, PC Pro and Tom’s Guide, while the Lumia 640 received Best of Mobile World Congress 2015 by Trusted Reviews.

From all of us at Microsoft, well done!
