Read hundreds of magazines on your Lumia with Readly
The digitization of media has meant that thumbing your way through the pages of a magazine isn’t quite what it used to be. The new Readly app for Windows Phone helps bring that experience back.
Think of Readly as your monthly subscription to more than 800 magazines—all in one place.
Titles include the Official Xbox Magazine, Top Gear, NME, Empire, and OK!, as well as their back issues in case you missed a previous edition.
On Readly, the digital version of a magazine is presented just like its physical, tactile edition.
You’re first shown a beautifully presented front cover; to read the publication, swipe the screen to turn a page and explore new content. If you want to read any small print, simply pinch and zoom to get a closer look.
Bookmarking is easy with this app. You can’t fold down the corners of a digital magazine’s pages, but you can tap the bookmark icon, add a little description if needed, and that section is saved for later viewing.
While Readly is great for catching up on your favorite magazines in your alone time, you can also share what you’re reading with friends and family via Facebook, Twitter, SMS, email even Tap to Share (NFC).
Readly is free to download and comes with a free two-week membership that gives you unlimited all-you-can-read access.
After two weeks, if you want to continue to read hundreds of great titles, enter your payment details and sign up for a monthly subscription of £9.99.
That membership can be used across five different devices, so your whole family can enjoy their favorite magazines.
Readly is available from the Windows Phone Store and the Windows Store, so you can load it up on both your Lumia 830 and Surface Pro 3, for example.
