The new Adobe Lightroom CC, designed for Surface Pro 3

Some of the most inspiring Surface owners and fans we’ve met have been artists, designers, filmmakers, and photographers. It’s incredibly energizing for me and everyone on the team to see what you create on Surface. As you guys already know, Adobe Creative Cloud has a special place in my heart. People who use Adobe Creative Cloud on their Surface drive us when we think about how we will make Surface an even better device for creativity.

Last year, our friends at Adobe unveiled updates to Photoshop and Illustrator that take full advantage of the touch screen and pen on Surface Pro 3. The optimizations made to Photoshop include pen accuracy and line precision, touch and gesture controls, and bigger touch targets. The new touch-enabled workspace in Illustrator exposes the core tools and controls for drawing and editing in a brand new UI, making it very natural to create with pen and touch.

People are telling us that they see immense value in using full, uncompromised creative programs on a tablet that works beautifully with touch and pen and allows you to take your studio on the go. We promised that you could expect more to come from Adobe and Surface, and today marks the next step in our journey together.

This morning, the team at Adobe unveiled a significant update to their Creative Cloud Photography plan which includes the next generation of Lightroom CC with a new touch workspace that was designed specifically for Surface Pro 3.

Check out what’s new.

Interact with your photos in entirely new ways

With the keyboard attached, you experience the full power of Lightroom CC. It gives you your digital photography essentials in one fast, intuitive, application. Capture the moment. Then, punch up the colors, make your shots even more vibrant, remove distracting objects, or make a skewed shot straight. Perfect your shots with powerfully simple one-click adjustments and advanced controls for tone, contrast, color, and more. At the same time, Lightroom CC also makes it easy to find and organize your photos, or share them with friends and family.

Remove the keyboard on Surface Pro 3, and the new Touch Workspace in Lightroom CC comes to life giving you greater power and flexibility to make amazing images any way you like, anywhere you are. Swipe through previews, flag photos, increase exposure, adjust color, crop, and apply adjustments to targeted parts of an image with just a few taps of your finger. The new Touch Workspace puts the full power of Lightroom CC at your fingertips on Surface Pro 3 opening new possibilities for photo editing on a laptop or tablet.

I am not sure about you, but it sure seems like we all take massive amounts of photos with our phones and cameras, and then we never know what to do with all these photos once we have them. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, the new touch workspace in Adobe Lightroom CC on Surface Pro 3 gives you all the tools you need to bring out the best in your photography.
