New blockbuster games for Windows Phone

“Hitman GO,” “Threes!,” and “Monument Valley” launched in the Windows Phone App Store this week. Here’s why you should be playing them on your Lumia right now.

It’s been a great week to be a gamer: Three proven smash hits have come to Windows Phone. Let’s check them out!

Hitman GO ($4.99 / £3.89)

BODY_HitmanGo

Turn-based puzzle play is the name of the game in “Hitman GO.”

Strategically navigate fixed spaces on a grid to avoid enemies and take out your target or infiltrate well-guarded locations. Each move requires concentration and focus, but you have all the Hitman tools of the trade at your disposal: disguises, distractions, sniper rifles, and even Agent 47’s iconic Silverballers.

With 91 levels, this top-rated game with beautifully rendered graphics just gets better with each new mission.

Threes! (Free)

BODY_Threes

Sometimes the simplest concepts produce the most difficult games. “Threes!”— free exclusively to Windows Phone — is a perfect example.

On a simple 16-space grid of numbers, start combining the 1’s and 2’s to make 3’s. Then, combine your 3’s – or any larger numbers – to create a larger sum.

Sound easy? It’s ridiculously difficult the longer you play, but it’s ridiculously fun, too. The larger your numbers, the more points you get, so start making those threes and feel your brain freeze!

Monument Valley ($3.99 / £3.09)

BODY_MonumentValley

Winner of the 2015 Best Mobile & Handheld award by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, this game is a surreal exploration through fantastical architecture and impossible geometry.

Guide the silent princess Ida through mysterious monuments, uncovering hidden paths, unfolding optical illusions, and outsmarting the enigmatic Crow People. Twist and drag to reshape the world and help Ida explore it.

“Monument Valley” is a beautiful puzzle game that’s designed to be easy for anyone to pick up and enjoy.

Which of these three games will you play this weekend? Let us know in the comments below.
