Our 5 best new Windows Phone apps of the week

Appy days are here again and we all know what that means.

Yeap, time flies when you’re having downloading fun and that’s what we’ve been doing all week. However, now after much dedicated research I can reveal our five best new Windows Phone apps of the week. So, get your Lumias at the ready and read on.

PicPlayPost

What is it: an app to create stories with your photos, videos, GIFs and music

Why we love it: If you love messing around with images you’ll love PicPlayPost. Simply put, the app allows you to add your favourite photos or videos from your camera roll to a number of different collages that can easily be shared on social media. The feature we love best is the ability to add music and videos to the collages to create cool GIFs. It’s billed as an easy way to create captivating stories with your photos, videos, GIFs and music and that’s exactly what it is.

Who it’s perfect for: Photographers, videographers or anyone who loves messing around with images.

BitTorrentShoot

What is it: an app to privately share large batches of photos or videos

Why we love it: As much as we love our Lumias, we realise some people are still yet to join the Windows Phone massive.  BitTorrent Shoot is a super duper new cross-platform app, which allows you to easily share whatever files and messages you like between different mobile platforms. It does it thanks to Sync’s peer-to-peer file synchronization technology.

Who it’s perfect for: People who have plenty of stuff to share and plenty of people to share it with.

Tapatalk

What is it: an app for browsing forums

Why we love it: These days there’s an online community for literally anything. Tapatalk is the leading platform for discussion forums, allowing users a common system by which to access and utilize internet communities. Once you download it, it allows you to have a unified interface to access multiple forums at the same time. Perfect for people who hang in a lot of different places and want access to them all from their Lumia.

Who it’s perfect for: Community-minded internet lovers

Flipboard (update)

What is it: Your personal magazine

Why we love it: It’s one of the best ways to curate interesting stories from around the world and certainly one of the most pleasing to the eye. It’s recently been updated to version 3, which comes with a bundle of improvements. There’s some newly refreshed tabs to play around with, as well as social features like uploading your personal photo, find topics and people in the search tab. All in all some ace additions to an already fab app.

Who it’s perfect for: People who want a beautiful way to keep up to date with what’s happening.

RecordSpot

What is it: A stylish recording app

Why we love it: There are plenty of recording apps on the market, but some suffer from being over complicated. What we love about RecordSpot is its simple, yet beautiful interface, which makes it both easy and a pleasure to use. If you need a recording app that makes things super simple, give this a try.

Who it’s perfect for: Anybody who needs to record meetings, lectures or interviews.
