National Geographic photo assignment: What’s in a Frame?

Calling all Lumia smartphone photographers! Microsoft is sponsoring an online mobile photography assignment on Your Shot, National Geographic’s photo community. And you can take part, too!

When you take a picture with your phone, do you frame your shots differently? Do you play with manual focus to create a bokeh-like effect? Do you shoot in wild angles? Do you shoot in square?

Join Microsoft and National Geographic in an online photography assignment curated by our friend and award-winning National Geographic photographer Stephen Alvarez.

Take and make your best shots with your Lumia or other phone, sign up for the Your Shot community and submit and share your best frames. You have until July 13 and yes, you can submit more than one image!

And if you happen to live in or around Seattle, come and join me and Stephen Alvarez for a National Geographic #YourShotMeetUp and photo walk this Saturday (June 27) to get tips from the pro and try out the new Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL phones. More information about the meet-up here.

Are you going to take part in the assignment or the photo walk? Let us know in the comments below.
