Skype for Business app debuts for Windows Phone

Say goodbye to Lync 2013—the new Skype for Business app for Lumia sports a number of new enhancements and features to improve your office productivity.

Today we’re pleased to announce the availability of the Skype for Business app for Windows Phone.

Taking the place of the Lync 2013 app for Windows Phone, the new Skype for Business app boasts some impressive new features.

Chief among these are a more intuitive interface, more emoticons, and improved server communications.

The Skype for Business app also changes how the app and server handle conversation notifications. Once you’re notified of a new conversation on your Lumia, other clients who are logged in won’t be able to take over the conversation and prevent you from responding.

Conversations are also synchronized across all your devices—PC, tablet, and Lumia—as long as you’re running the latest server software.

Lumia owners running Windows Phone 8.1 and higher who already have the Lync 2013 app installed will be automatically updated to the Skype for Business app. If you have Windows Phone 8.0, continue to use the Lync 2013 or Lync 2010 app.

Don’t have Lync 2013 installed? Then download the Skype for Business app here.
