Despicable Me: Minion Rush tips and tricks

If you’re a fan of Kevin, Stuart, Bob, and their little yellow friends, you’ve probably played Despicable Me: Minion Rush on your Lumia. But do you want to play it better? We’ve got some simple tips to maximize your gameplay.

Connect to Facebook

Not only does this enable you to compare your scores with your pals, it’s also an easy way to collect a valuable in-game resource: Gru tokens. You’ll receive 50 just for connecting.

Complete achievements

With 66 mini-quests available by way of achievements, you’ll earn more Gru tokens.

For example, if you get run over by a bus 15 times while in the Residential Area, you’ll receive five tokens. Or, win 25 challenges to win 10.

Play daily

By simply revisiting the game every day, you’ll receive bananas and Gru tokens.

The more you resist, the more you win, so be sure to log in daily as the rewards increase the more you play.

Spend your bananas!

The bananas you collect as you run can be used to make upgrades to help you advance in the game.

For instance, since you need bananas, it’s worth spending in-game funds on upgrading the banana vacuum or the banana splitter as well as any of the other options.

If you wanted to spend your own (real) money, you can purchase the “Golden Banana” to instantly and forever double the worth of each banana you collect.

One banana = two bananas.

 Take part in events

Grab some cred by taking part in some of the challenges available in the Events page.

You’ll also win some big prizes, such as 250 Gru tokens for coming in first place, or other large amounts for coming in the top 20, 50, 100, 500, or 2,500 position.
