Abyss appears exclusively on Windows Phone

A new exploration game from Game Troopers takes you to the bottom of the ocean on your Lumia.

In the far-off future of 3024, natural resources are scarce and the human race faces almost-certain extinction. The only person who can save the world is you!

The brand-new action-exploration game “Abyss” ($2.99) casts you as a biomechanical robot named Nep2no. By controlling its direction with your left thumb and its acceleration with your right, you can pilot the hardy robot through the ocean depths in search of a new energy source called Gaia.

Navigating the murky trenches and deep recesses of the ocean can be a challenge. Not only must you counteract gravity with bursts of propulsion, you must avoid the many obstacles and rough terrain that blocks your path.

“Abyss” features 20 demanding levels, which, even for an old-school gamer like me, can be arduous to complete. Still, there’s no better feeling than discovering a secret passage to guide Nep2no on his mission to snatch up all that sweet, sweet Gaia.

“Abyss” first appeared on consoles such as Xbox 360 and Wii U, but is now debuting on smartphones exclusively on Windows Phone. The game features Xbox Live support for earning achievements and competing against friends on leaderboards.

Another cool feature is that “Abyss” automatically takes a screenshot of the most memorable moment from your adventure (such as reaching a goal, opening a complex mechanism, or even your untimely death) and then lets you share it with friends online with a single finger tap.

“Abyss” supports 512MB RAM devices and also supports both Live Tiles and Wide Tiles for pinning to your Start screen.

Save humanity today: Download “Abyss” here or search for “Abyss” in the app store on your Lumia.

Have you played “Abyss” yet? Let us know what you think about it in the comments below.
