Into the wild with Microsoft

Earlier this month a small group of lifestyle and tech media joined us on an Alaskan adventure to experience, discover, and capture the wonders of the 49th state with Microsoft devices.

After taking in some photography tips by Stephen Alvarez, a National Geographic photographer, and Juha Alakarhu, imaging expert at Microsoft, we took a ride on the scenic Alaska Railroad; cruised into the amazing Blackstone Bay to see glaciers, waterfalls and wildlife; dined on top of the Mount Alyeska and hiked down just as the sun was setting at 11pm.

Then there was a gentle 5-mile morning hike at 5:30am complete with a hand tram ride over a river gorge, and a visit to Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center before we were helicoptered into Punch Bowl Glacier, a snow field in the middle of the Chugach Mountains, for some dog sledding and puppy love – one of the highlights of the trip!

And all of this was captured and shared with Lumia 640 XL, Microsoft Band and Surface 3 (4G LTE) running Windows 10.
