Before your place your bets (sportsmans or otherwise) on the upcoming NASCAR Chase Grid Battle®, take a look at Bing’s predictions.

BODY_Bing-predicts-Nascar

By analyzing statistical information on NASCAR–including race history, driver information, and season standings, then combining it with web and social sentiment– Bing can predict which driver is more likely to win the race and who’ll just be smelling brake dust.

Here is Bing’s current prediction for the five top qualifiers:

  1. Kevin Harvick
  2. Joey Logano
  3. Dale Earnhardt Jr.
  4. Brad Keselowski
  5. Jimmie Johnson

Who will be crowned the ultimate winner and who will be the also-rans? Here’s Bing’s take:

  1. Brad Keselowski – based on average position in recent seasons
  2. Kevin Harvick – based on recent average position on similar tracks
  3. Joey Logano – based on recent average position on similar tracks
  4. Kurt Busch – based on laps led in recent sessions
  5. Kyle Busch – based on laps led in recent sessions

Of course, these are just predictions and they can change as other races take place.

For us non-NASCAR drivers, if you’d like to make your own predictions, create or join leagues, or see if you know more about NASCAR than your pals, join the NASCAR Chase Battle Grid Game.

There are points to be won and points mean prizes*, such as NSCAR.com Superstore vouchers, 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ tickets, autographed NASCAR® Officially Licensed helmet, and more.

This isn’t the only attempt at predicting the future; Bing has also looked at the data for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Wimbledon, and the Tour de France, as well as the American Football season to forecast the results.
