One in five children in Scotland live in poverty, says David Duke, CEO and Founder of Street Soccer Scotland.

Based in Edinburgh, the nonprofit social enterprise uses the sport of football (or soccer, as it’s known in the United States) as a medium to empower people who are affected by social exclusion to make positive changes in their lives.

In a new video, David explains how Street Soccer Scotland’s collaboration with Microsoft Lumia has helped the organization’s efforts.

See how Lumia helps Street Soccer Scotland be more productive and do good things in the video below:

“Most of the problems that we’ve faced as an organization has actually come from a lack of communication.” – David Duke, Founder of Street Soccer Scotland.

Skype and OneNote keep members of the team connected, despite them living in different cities. For example, one staff member can take a photo from an event, save it to OneNote, and share it with the rest of the team through their Lumia and Surface devices.

“It means that the team all know what we’re all doing and share ideas so we can tell the story better,” David says. “It really opens your eyes to what you can do using technology.”
