Japan: Slim Faces & War Spheres

It is called the Face Slimmer by the Japanese company Yumetai. It is a device, believe or not, designed smooth your skin and shrink your face after a mere application. From a rather sardonic commentator at InventorSpot:

“…pop the Face Slimmer into your pie-hole and emote vowel sounds for three minutes. Supposedly by doing so, you exercise every part of your face and activate muscles of the face and neck that don’t normally get used.”

It is a terrifying visual so I hope if anyone you know attempts to use the device they will use it in the privacy of their own home.

But it’s not all fun and games in Japan!

The nation’s Ministry of Defense has also invented a robotic, flying sphere – operating much the same as a helicopter.  More info? Sure thing.

The drone is capable of hovering for eight minutes without landing and can accelerate to up to 40 miles per hour. It weighs less than a pound, costs approximately $1400 and can be made entirely from commercially available parts.

It flies through a combination of internal propellers providing propulsive force and wings providing lift and also holds a camera inside. The drone takes off and lands vertically like a helicopter, but won’t lose altitude if it hits another object.

This is a stunning invention and seems to signal the future of warfare. Ridley Scott must be thrilled. Here’s the video:
