What does Windows 8, Surface Pro and NASCAR have in common? Come to the Windows area at TechEd June 3rd – 6th to learn how Toyota Racing Development built a mobile solution for its NASCAR racing teams’ using Surface Pro and a custom LOB application on Windows 8 to improve communications, drive more efficiency in the garage resulting in more time on the track.  A custom Windows & Surface branded car will be on display for picture opportunities all week. Make sure to join us at 7:15 on June 3rd in the Windows Expo area for a demo of the TRD Trackside application and come meet some special guests that will be joining us.

What is the TRD Trackside application? TRD’s Trackside app, running on Windows 8-powered tablets, helps deliver efficient trackside information exchanges at the track and improves the speed and accuracy of communications between the race car driver and racing team crew chief. Instead of fumbling around with a heavy laptop like most teams, drivers with teams such as RAB Racing with Brack Maggard are using TRD’s Trackside app to compare times and performance against the track layout with the tap of a finger, allowing them to immediately see where they have to improve to beat the competition.
