Windows Insider Creators Update February Bug Bash #winbugbash

Hi everyone,

This is Michael Fortin, Corporate VP for Windows and Devices Core Quality and Anita George, leader of the Bug Bash for the Windows and Devices Group. We would like to welcome the Windows Insiders to the February 2017 Windows 10 Creators Update Bug Bash. Today, Friday February 3rd, we start the Bug Bash both internally within Microsoft as well as with Windows Insiders.

Thank you to all the Insiders that have participated in past Bug Bashes, and returning or new participants in this upcoming one. Your feedback is very valuable to us and helps shape Windows 10! As you enter your feedback, our developers will be busy working on fixing many of these issues over the next several weeks. The Bug Bash will conclude on Sunday February 12th, 11:59 PM PST.

Along with the instructions below, here is a video describing what you can expect for this Bug Bash.

If you are in the Fast ring, we encourage you to Bug Bash on the latest Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15025 (click here to read about Build 15025 for PC and click here to read about Build 15025 for Mobile).

As with previous Bug Bashes, please use Quests within Feedback Hub to direct you to new capabilities in the product to try out and give feedback. Throughout the week, we will make more Quests available so you can run through any Quests you missed from a previous day. The first set of Quests for the February Bug Bash are available here.

Quests will be marked with:

  • UPDATE Quests: Quests marked as “Update” exercise update paths from Windows 10 Anniversary Update to the Windows 10 Insider Preview Bug Bash build.
  • DEVELOPER Quests: Quests marked as “Developer Quests” specifically are designed for Developers and may require coding.

As you enter your feedback in Feedback Hub, please first search Feedback Hub to see if someone already entered similar feedback. In this case, all you need to do is upvote their feedback. Feedback items with upvotes help us see how many of you are running into similar issues.

You may be recognized for your participation in the Bug Bash by receiving a badge in Feedback Hub after the Bug Bash concludes based on installation of a Bug Bash build, going through a quest, and entering or upvoting a feedback item.

We have lots of opportunities for Windows Insiders to participate in this Bug Bash. We are planning two live Beam webcasts with Insiders and some special guests from the Windows Insider Program. Our first live webcast will be Tuesday, Feb 7th from 2-4pm Redmond time with guest appearances by Dona Sarkar and Bill Karagounis. Our second live webcast will be on Saturday, Feb 11th from 7-9pm with a guest appearance by Gabe Aul. During these webcasts, engineers from the Windows Engineering Team will be running through quests live on Beam and on their own PCs. You can get to the Beam webcast through this link.

We are excited to hear from our Insiders around the world, especially those who speak other languages besides English. If you do speak or read languages other than US English, please provide feedback if you notice translation issues with how text is translated or displayed in the product. You can make a difference in our customer experience worldwide!

Stay tuned to announcements and Quests in Feedback Hub over the course of the week for news and information. You can also reach us at our Twitter handle for any additional questions – @WindowsInsider. If you aren’t a Windows Insider but would like to become one, please visit our website.  If you are an Insider but you aren’t getting new Insider Preview builds, take a look at our troubleshooting guide.

Thanks again for participating in this Bug Bash. Our developers are busy putting the finishing touches on many of the features announced in the last few weeks. We truly appreciate your help in make the upcoming Windows 10 Creators Update even better! If you have feedback on the Bug Bash, let us know through Feedback Hub.

Happy bug bashing!

Mike and Anita
