Today, our CEO Satya Nadella has taken the Ice Bucket Challenge for the second year in a row, which helps promote awareness of ALS. For this year’s Ice Bucket Challenge – Satya “upgrades” his challenge by inviting Terry Myerson and other members of the Windows Team to take part! He also challenges Windows Insiders to do the same! A year ago, Pat Quinn and Pete Frates inspired a global movement to promote awareness of ALS with the Ice Bucket Challenge, taking place every August until a cure is found. In 2014 the Team Gleason foundation raised nearly $1 million in the effort, and has donated close to $1.8 million in technology and equipment to people with ALS, so that they can live their lives in communication with friends, family and loved ones.
