Dell’s family-friendly Inspiron R laptops are live!

The Round Rock crew just refreshed the venerable, budget-friendly, Inspiron line with the Inspiron R series, and from what I’ve seen they look like very capable everyday laptops.

The Inspiron R is available in 14”, 15” and 17” sizes to fit any need – or level of eyesight – and all feature a redesigned chassis that’s much smoother and rounder than previous versions. You can get it in one of 4 colors (Peacock Blue, Mars Black, Promise Pink, and my favorite, Tomato Red), all of which are trimmed in chrome.

Spec wise, there’s a lot of variety to select exactly the machine you want. Choose form Intel Core i3 or i5 processors, optional ATI Mobility Radeon 5470 discrete graphics, optional Intel WiDi, and more. That kind of personalized shopping experience is synonymous with Dell.com, and one of the reasons that their PCs are some of my favorites (remember, I rock a loaded Dell Studio XPS 16 as my “desktop laptop”).

Pricing starts at only $449, and you can get them starting today.
