Device Stage now on Sony Ericsson Phones

I never pass up a chance to play with a new device. In this case I was recently given a chance to play with a Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro. This is one of 14 phones Sony Ericsson has currently implemented Device Stage for in Windows 7. The Vivaz Pro comes with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 5.1 megapixel camera, and does 720p HD video.

Through Device Stage, I can choose to install (or launch if its already installed on the PC) Sony Ericsson’s Media Go software, I can also check to see if there are any device updates available for the Vivaz Pro. I can also get quick access to support resources for the phone as well. Through Device Stage, I can also choose to import the photos I take and videos I shoot from the Vivaz Pro directly into Windows Live Photo Gallery. The Vivaz Pro geotags photos taken with the device and with the new Windows Live Photo Gallery, I can see the location of where the photos were taken as it now supports geotags. And of course the new Windows Live Movie Maker makes it pretty easy to quickly edit and share the videos I shoot with the Vivaz Pro too. You can download the beta for the new Photo Gallery and Movie Maker here and try them out for yourself.

As you’ve seen with many of the recent posts, there continues to be excellent momentum for Windows 7 and the devices that support it. The Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro makes a great addition to the products that support Device Stage in Windows 7 today.
