Decibel Festival and the dB Conference Start Wednesday; Windows Lounge Open Friday

Well, Decibel Festival week is finally here and I want to give you the rundown on everything Windows-related.

On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, KEXP’s Darek Mazzone and fellow Windows DJ Dave Pezzner will be sharing their knowledge at the 7th annual Decibel Conference (dB Conference). dB Conference is the educational component of the Festival, and Windows 7 is this year’s Conference presenting partner.

Also on Friday, come visit the Windows Lounge at Sole Repair. Stop by between 11am and 8pm, say hi, and play with an HP Envy Beats 14, an Asus David Lewis, a Dell Studio XPS and a Toshiba Satellite A665-3DV. You can find details on the space and a map here. (Important Note: OK, I really messed up. The Windows Lounge is actually only open to artists and press.  You need an invitation, and it admits you + 1 guest. Sorry for the misinformation. 9/22, AB)

In preparation for this day, a few days ago a few of us took a trip down to KEXP and talked with Darek about what the PC means for music. Here’s what he had to say:

(The intro music on the video is “Los Revueltos” by Roberto Bonaccorso of MangoSon. We used it with permission.)

We have four all-access pass winners. I still haven’t heard from solowcx. If you’re out there, please send me a tweet so I can get you on the all-access list.  All winners can collect their passes at Will Call, located at Pravda Studios from noon until midnight, Wednesday – Friday.

You can find the full Festival line-up here and the Conference line-up here, but Dave and Darek can be found:
