Hot on the heels of yesterday’s Acer Aspire gaming notebook announcement, Acer is taking the cover off its holiday desktop lineup. Most people know Acer for their notebooks, especially the wildly popular Acer ApsireONE netbook, but they make some great desktops as well. Here’s what’s coming from the world’s second-largest PC maker – I should note that you can check out all of these at Acer.com.
New Predator Gaming Rigs
You may remember the latest gen of the Acer Aspire “Predator” gaming desktop from the post I did a few weeks back. It’s a crazy machine in terms of power and design, and today Acer is complimenting that high-end machine with a more mainstream model, the AG5900-U3092. This model is a little more reserved in its styling, which is still more aggressive than most towers, and features high-performance specs like a Core i7-870 processor, 8GB of RAM, ATI Radeon HD 5850 GPU, and a 1.5TB drive. The new AG5900 starts at a very reasonable $1349.99. A refreshed AG7750 – Acer’s high-end Predator – is available for $1999.99, and comes fully loaded with a Core i7-930 quad-core processor, NVIDIA’s 3D-capable GeForce® GTX470 with SLI technology, 12GB of RAM, up to 8TB of storage, and a full liquid cooling system. Now THAT is a power gaming machine!
A new All-in-one, the Acer Aspire Z3100
The Acer Aspire Z3100 is all about solid performance in a simple package. It’s a 21.5” 1080p machine running NVIDIA GeForce 9200 graphics and an AMD Athon II processor. This isn’t the machine you want for power gaming, but if you’re looking for a solid home desktop for homework, web surfing, email and casual gaming, it’s a great choice at a great price ($599).
Acer also updated its AZ5700 all-in-one. The AZ5700 is the Z3100’s bigger brother; it has a 23” HD multi-touch screen, and more robust guts (Core i5 processor, 4GB RAM, Intel HD graphics, 1TB drive). You can get one starting at $1099.
The newly refreshed Acer AspireRevo nettop
Acer’s AspireRevo is a tiny little desktop PC – basically a netbook in a PC’s body. It’s small, stylish, and even clips to the back of an Acer monitor with Acer’s super cool VESA mounting system. It’s a great choice if you’re working on a budget but want a PC that will give you the power to do everyday stuff – browsing the web, staying up with mail and social networking, doing basic work with photos, etc. It’s available starting this week for a very, very reasonable $349.99
