Ben Rudolph and I recently visited four fantastic mom bloggers known as the Blogging Angels in New York for a podcast to talk about Windows. The Blogging Angels consist of Rebecca Levey (Beccarama), Nancy Friedman (From Hip to Housewife), Amy Oztan (Selfish Mom), and Heidi Leder (Coast2Coast Mom) and address timely topics core to moms working in (or with) social media. Check out the podcast and hear our tips for how bloggers can work with Microsoft, as well as great blogging tools like Windows Live Writer and Ben’s recommendations for the best blogger PCs, which include:
- HP DM4 – Lisa’s PC of choice! lightweight, all aluminum chassis, switchable graphics, starts around $700.
- Toshiba r705 – It’s the lightest full feature laptop ever built, weighs just over 3lbs, and its highly customizable at toshibadirect.com. The entry level model, which is still really great, is under $800.
- Sony VAIO Z – Ben’s current PC, with super premium experience. His includes Blu-ray, a core i5 processor, 6GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD, and a 1600 x 900 13” screen. It starts at $1800, but you do get what you pay for!
- HP mini 311 – It’s an HD netbook with a full 720p-capable screen, and with up to 3GB of RAM, it performs great, too. Starting price around $400.
- ASUS eeePC 1215n – Ben’s new favorite netbook. It has a dual core Atom, and NVIDIA ION graphics with Optimus fast-switch technology for killer video performance. And you can get it for under $500.
