Live at CES 2011: The mad geniuses at ORIGIN show the world what’s next in power gaming

Saturday afternoon had a shoot that I was really looking forward to all week – ORIGIN.  If you haven’t heard of them, ORIGIN makes some of the world’s most powerful gaming PCs, all custom designed & hand-built.  My first experience with ORIGIN came when I picked up the massive, blow-you-out-of-your-socks-fast EON 18 gaming laptop (which I reviewed on the blog), but what really sold me on ORIGIN as a company to watch was when I got my hands on the Big O, ORIGIN’s liquid cooled gaming rig/Xbox hybrid.  It was a hit at our Holiday PC Showcase events (watch the video), and put ORIGIN at the top of my list for craziest system builder.

I sat down with ORIGIN Founder and CEO Kevin Wasielewski (Wash-eh-less-key) to talk about the Big O and what’s coming next in the world of high-performance gaming PCs:

Get Microsoft Silverlight

What surprised me the most was Kevin’s comment that a lot of Big O’s are being sold to engineers who want max performance, not to gamers.  Interesting and unexpected.

I’ll be at CES 2011 for the entire show, meeting with our hardware partners to get a behind-the-scenes look at their newest, most innovative gear.  Keep up with me by following me on Twitter @BenThePCGuy, and let me know if you have any questions by sending me a tweet with the hashtag #askben
