Dell SWITCHes gears with its colorful new Inspiron R lineup

This morning Dell finally lifted the curtain on a laptop line that I’ve been waiting to see in the wild for a while now – the Inspiron R with SWITCH by Design Studio collection.

Of course, the new PC performs great with new 2nd generation “Sandybridge” Core processors under the hood, USB 3.0 and up to 8GB of memory, but what’s really amazing is the new switchable lid option which gives the SWITCH lineup its name.  Just pop off the lid whenever you feel like a change and swap it out with one of 25 eye-catching colors and designs, including some that were designed by OPI, Threadless, the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation and (PRODUCT) Red

It’s a really cool concept that takes personalization to a new level.  Now you don’t have to decide on one look and stick with it for the life of your machine – you can literally start the day with one look, swap it out with something more professional for an afternoon meeting, then color it up when you’re kicking back with your friends at the end of the day.  Really cool stuff!

The new Inspiron R SWITCH collection is available in 14, 15 and 17 inch models, all with outstanding battery life (up to 13 hours with the 9 cell battery) and brilliant HD displays.  You can get yours starting today from Dell.com/SWITCH.
