Check out the hot new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 & ThinkCentre 91z!

A few years back during the Vista era, Lenovo introduced the ThinkPad X301. That PC was absolutely awesome – one of the best that Lenovo ever made. It was a 13” ultrathin with a Core 2 Duo processor, a 128GB SSD (very rare for that time), and killer battery life. I used it as my daily carry for nearly 2 years.

Since then, Lenovo has made a number of great ThinkPads – the X200 comes to mind, as do the new X120e and X220 – but they haven’t made a direct replacement for the 13” X301. Until today.

Just a few hours ago Lenovo announced the brand new X1 ultrathin. It’s a beautiful 13” ThinkPad that sports some really interesting new tech and design choices, like a glossy Corning® Gorilla® Glass display, second-generation Core processors (up to i7!), solid-state drives, and new “Rapid Charge” technology that can charge the battery to 80% in only 30 minutes. It looks like it’s going to be a seriously good ultraportable, and you can order them today from Lenovo.com starting at $1399.

I got to check one of the first X1’s off the line last week, and my test unit arrives today.  Look for a review soon.

As cool as the ThinkPad X1 is, it’s not the only news from Lenovo today. They also rolled out the new ThinkCentre 91z all-in-one, a business class desktop that’s only 2.5” thick, and packs top-of-the-line power like a quad-core i7 processor, 8GB of memory, and discrete AMD graphics. You can get them in July starting at a very reasonable $699.
