Acer goes sleek and stylish with new Gateway ID and NV Series laptops

Acer’s been kind of quiet recently, but they showed up with a bang today with the introduction of the new Gateway ID and NV Series laptops, all available starting today at very reasonable prices.

The new Gateway ID47 is completely redesigned and has a really neat design feature – a 14” HD display is a 13.3” chassis!   Granted, screen size and screen resolution are two different things, but still – who can complain about that killer combination of a small body and a big screen?  Inside the ID47’s slim chassis (which you can get in two  finishes, “Brushed Platinum” or “Infinity Blue Liquid”) is a Dolby Audio powered speaker bar, a 20% larger trackpad, USB 3.0 and HDMI out, and a second generation Intel Core processor.  You can get one starting at $699.99

If you want something a bit larger the new NV Series is perfect for you.  You’ll get a beautiful 15.6” display and the same great tech as the ID Series, with a choice of either a second-generation Core processor from Intel, or a new AMD A Series APU.  The former offers more computing horsepower, while the latter is better for long-haul battery life.  You can get one starting at $529.99 – that’s a very  good price for a PC with this level of design and tech.
