ASUS announces Transformer Book T100 at IDF

Yesterday at Intel Developer Forum (IDF) 2013 in San Francisco, ASUS unveiled the new Transformer Books T100.

The Transformer Book T100 is a 10.1-inch Windows 8.1 device that comes powered by Intel’s new Atom quad-core processor – codenamed “Bay Trail”. With Intel’s new Atom quad-core processor, the Transformer Book T100 comes packing great performance with amazing energy efficiency for up to 11 hours on battery power. The Transformer Book’s HD IPS multi-touch display detaches from the lightweight keyboard dock to be a standalone tablet and comes with wide 178-degree viewing angles for super crisp-looking images. The tablet by itself is one of the lightest 10-inch tablets at 550g and is only 10.5mm thin. The keyboard dock has precision-engineered keys for comfort with extended use, USB 3.0 (on the keyboard dock) and a multitouch trackpad that supports gestures in Windows 8.1. And finally, the Transformer Book T100 comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 with full versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote, perfect for being productive at school or at work.

The Transformer Book T100 will be available later this year at $349 (U.S.) with 32GB of storage or $399 (U.S.) with 64GB of storage.
