New and Updated Bing Apps for Windows Phone



Today, the Bing Team is announcing a comprehensive update for their existing Bing apps on Windows Phone (Bing News, Bing Finance, Bing Weather, and Bing Sports) and introducing 3 brand new apps: Bing Food & Drink, Bing Health & Fitness, and Bing Travel. Along with fresh features, your personalized content from all 7 of the Bing apps will now roam across all your Windows devices (Windows PCs and Tablets running Windows 8.1). For example: any places you’ve added in the Bing Weather app will now roam and sync between your Windows PC or Tablet and your Windows Phone! Just set up once with your Microsoft Account, and you’re all set.

Bing Food & Drink (New!): With access to over 600,000 recipes from leading culinary content partners like AllRecipes, BigOven, Epicurious, Bon Appetit, Saveur, Food52 and more – you can now find the perfect recipe right on your Windows Phone. You can also easily create and manage your shopping lists based on a recipe you find or your weekly grocery list. Your favorite recipes and shopping lists will roam across all your Windows devices.

5 GPSTracker

Bing Health & Fitness (New!): You get access to nutrition, fitness and medical information, hundreds of workouts and tools that can be personalized to fit you specific needs and help you stay healthy. You also get 3 trackers – Diet Tracker, Cardio Tracker and GPS Tracker – to gather information about your activities and nutrition to make healthier decisions.

2 Flights

Bing Travel (New!): Plan and manage your next trip right on your Windows Phone. You can use the Bing Travel app to find all kinds of places with destination guides, rich photos and more. You can plan your trip and book your flights and hotels. And you can pin your flights right to your Start screen on your Windows Phone.

Bing Finance (Updated!): We are introducing ‘My Finance’ on your Windows Phone that allows you to securely track your brokerage accounts in the Bing Finance app, including monitoring account balances, portfolio distribution, holdings transactions and more. This works for folks in the U.S. who have brokerage accounts with E*TRADE, Fidelity, Fidelity NetBenefits, Sharebuilder, Charles Schwab and TD Ameritrade.

Bing Sports (Updated!): Bing Sports on Windows Phone lets you watch live event coverage for NBA, NFL and all major soccer leagues. You also get player profiles that includes news stories, photos and social media updates. And you can personalize Bing Sports for your favorite teams which will roam across your Windows devices.

Bing News (Updated!): New sources have been added including the Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. You can customize your sources and have them roam across your Windows devices. And a much requested feature – the ability to share articles of interest via text, email or on your social network has been enabled!

A day does not go by where I don’t use the Bing apps on my Windows devices. It is great to see the 3 new Bing apps for my Windows Phone and that all the apps roam and sync together across all my Windows devices! Grab the Bing apps today from the Windows Phone Store!
