Windows Phone, KEXP and SXSW—three things that are better together

It’s that time of the year when it seems like everybody’s heading to Austin, Texas. South by Southwest is one of the nation’s premier festivals featuring music, film and interactive. But to call it a mere “festival” doesn’t really do it justice—to fully grasp this extravaganza, you need to be there. But if you’re not among the masses, Windows Phone is teaming up with KEXP to bring you the next best thing.

From March 12th to 14th you’ll get ultimate access to a free all-ages South by Southwest Showcase Series. Even if you’re stuck a thousand miles from Austin.

It seems only logical to put the amazing new Nokia Lumia Icon in the hands of KEXP staff, who are—you guessed it—in Austin.

Not only do they have the ultimate concert recording device, but KEXP knows music inside-and-out (a prerequisite for working at one of the country’s best radio stations). End result? You get coverage that really matters. They will be capturing live bands and behind-the-scenes footage and interviews, recording it all in beautiful 1080p high definition and capturing every note with four dynamic high-range microphones.

The event will be hosted by Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop and features performances from bands like Yellow Ostrich, Avi Buffalo, Vertical Scratchers and many more. So don’t miss it—follow Windows Phone on Facebook, Twitter and Vine.
