Celebrating Microsoft Solitaire

It was 25 years ago that Microsoft Solitaire debuted on Windows, and to honor the decades of fun it’s given us all, we’re celebrating with two big competitions. First, an internal competition among Microsoft employees kicks off today to determine who leads the leaderboards here. Then, in early June, the same challenges used in the tournament will be released in the game for the world to play.

Update 6/2/15: 

Now that the internal Microsoft Solitaire competition has completed, we will be running a national Solitaire contest in June and a worldwide competition at some point in the future.

We will be releasing the same Solitaire challenges used in the Microsoft employee tournament for everyone to play. These challenges will take the form of a special Star Club collection. Once the collection is released, players will race to complete the challenges as quickly as possible. The first 250 players who complete the entire collection and post proof to the Microsoft Solitaire Collection Facebook page will receive a $25 Microsoft Digital Gift Code. This contest is restricted to US residents only.

The release date of the contest, the Star Club challenges, and additional details will be announced in June on the Microsoft Solitaire Collection Facebook page. In the meantime, download Microsoft Solitaire Collection for Windows 8/8.1 and get practicing!
