The Xbox Beta App on Windows 10 Gets an Update

Written By published October 23, 2015

In September, we released the Xbox beta app on Windows 10 as a way for people to test and provide feedback on new features before they are released to the general public on the Xbox app on Windows 10. This week, we’re excited to start previewing some new ways for you to expand your social gaming network and share your gaming content with your friends on Xbox Live.

A top requested fan feature coming in this update is the ability to easily find and add Facebook friends who are also on Xbox Live to play, chat, and share clips. Starting today in the Xbox beta app, Xbox Live members on Windows 10 can do just that. In addition, voiceover recording functionality has been added to Game DVR, and the Store in the Xbox beta app will allow you to search for and purchase Xbox One games – including Games with Gold and Deals with Gold promotions, and Xbox One 25-digit codes will be redeemable within the app. To get all the details on the updates in the Xbox beta app on Windows 10 head over to our blog post on Xbox Wire.

At Team Xbox, we want to make it easy for you to connect with your friends no matter the device you choose to game on. With these updates we’re excited to see how you expand your social gaming network!
